Customs brokers and their management: current challenges and the future | Despachantes aduaneiros e sua gestão: desafios atuais e futuros.

Customs brokers are an important part of the customs ecosystem. Both parties - traders and customs - can benefit greatly from working with these professional intermediaries. Customs brokers take on the complex tasks related to customs clearance, protect and serve the interests of the parties involved while balancing their different needs (e.g. fast delivery vs. thorough control) and save them a lot of time so they can focus on their core activities. This topic is not new, and one might think that these areas of operation should already be established and standardised. However, discussions at the 19th Authors' Meeting showed that there are still more questions than answers in the countries of Europe and America.

Os despachantes aduaneiros são uma parte importante do ecossistema aduaneiro. Ambas as partes – comerciantes e alfândegas – podem se beneficiar muito ao trabalhar com esses intermediários profissionais. Os despachantes aduaneiros assumem tarefas complexas relacionadas ao desembaraço aduaneiro, protegem e atendem aos interesses das partes envolvidas, ao mesmo tempo em que equilibram suas diferentes necessidades (por exemplo, entrega rápida versus controle completo) e economizam muito tempo para que possam se concentrar em suas atividades principais. Este tópico não é novo, e pode-se pensar que essas áreas de operação já deveriam estar estabelecidas e padronizadas. No entanto, as discussões no 19º Encontro de Autores mostraram que ainda há mais perguntas do que respostas nos países da Europa e da América.
